A fax hits the secure eFax Corporate® infrastructure, immediately triggering an Apex REST webhook notification that pushes the metadata and the base64-encoded PDF to your designated Salesforce endpoint.
Salesforce automatically parses the JSON data package, instantly generating a new record in the Received Document object while logging the unique external eFax Message ID to prevent duplicate files.
The Apex service converts the base64 data string into a binary Blob, creating a ContentVersion record complete with a system-recognized .pdf extension for native rendering.
Salesforce automatically wraps the file in a ContentDocument container. The system then builds a ContentDocumentLink record, instantly attaching and sharing the viewable file directly to the initial Received Document layout.
