Consensus Cloud Solutions’ Enterprise Cloud Fax Government (ECFax®) technology has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) authorization at the High Impact level. This designation, given to cloud-based solutions proven to meet the highest federal data security standards, positions ECFax as the FedRAMP High cloud-based faxing system of choice available to government agencies.

ECFax, powered by eFax®, offers a secure and efficient cloud-based fax solution that can significantly reduce costs and streamline workflows for any federal agency. By eliminating the need for physical fax machines, paper, and associated infrastructure, ECFax minimizes administrative overhead and reduces reliance on multiple vendors. This translates to lower operational costs and increased productivity for government employees.

Furthermore, ECFax’s API-driven integration capabilities enable seamless incorporation into existing IT applications, replacing costly servers and telecom infrastructure and further optimizing processes for government agencies. With 24/7 state-of-the-art faxing capabilities and around-the-clock help desk support, ECFax ensures uninterrupted service and reliable communication, crucial for government operations.

Jeffrey Sullivan, CTO at Consensus, stated, “Achieving FedRAMP High Authorization reassures our customers that their data is protected with the highest federal standards of security while reaching their digital modernization goals. ECFax empowers agencies working towards the Federal Government’s Cloud Smart initiative to embrace cloud innovation and retire legacy fax technology to enhance communication workflows, reduce costs, and mitigate risk.”

ECFax was developed specifically for government use, making it possible for agencies to benefit from a highly secure, scalable, and reliable legacy fax alternative. Built with a modern, cloud-native design, ECFax is:

  • Scalable: Hosted on Amazon Web Services GovCloud, ECFax scales on-demand to hundreds of millions of pages per month through auto-scaling and elastic load balancing.
  • Efficient: Using a cloud fax solution can significantly reduce overhead expenses, and the automation of fax workflows decreases labor costs and optimizes processes.
  • Secure: ECFax and add-on components have been tested to meet the most important security and quality assurance protocols for data protection, including FIPS 140-2, NIST Rev 4 and HIPAA compliance.
  • Transparent: Performance dashboards provide visibility into service usage and operational status, which allows for near real-time production metrics.

As previously announced, ECFax is currently being implemented across the VA enterprise. Faxes are delivered digitally across multiple endpoints, including multifunction devices, shared folders, distribution lists, and inboxes. Cloud fax implementation yields efficiencies, enhanced operational resiliency and scalability, and reduced need for standalone hardware, which in return leads to cost benefits through reduced administrative and local technical support requirements, elimination of duplicative faxing support contracts, and separate hosting servers.
