Businesses are implementing new technologies like cloud computing and adopting mobile strategies to keep up with employee flexibility and productivity demands. According to a new
TechNavio report, the global mobile cloud application market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 87 percent between 2010 and 2014.
This trend is being driven by employees' demands to work outside the office and still be connected to mission-critical solutions, TechNavio analysts said. This is especially true as more organizations adopt bring-your-own-device policies and they need a uniform system that every employee can connect to.
"The global mobile cloud applications market is being driven by the increasing adoption of mobile devices such as smartphones, iPhones, iPads and tablets," the report said. "The adoption of smartphones is driven by the upgrading of wireless networks that support bandwidth-intensive services and reduce the cost of data services. In addition, the reduced cost of smartphones is further driving adoption."
Additionally, many companies are adopting the cloud to have easier access to efficient fax services. According to a recent webinar by
EasyLink, cloud-based online fax tools are scalable and highly available, making them an ideal solution for smaller businesses looking to grow or those that desire to offer teleworking capabilities.
